Working in the Investor in People way, we’re fully committed to upholding this incredibly high standard for people management. The standard defines what it takes to lead, support and manage people for sustained success and is split into a huge range of performance indicators across numerous skill areas.
Investors in People Champions
On the journey to achieving our gold status, we assembled a team of IiP Champions. These are placed across the business and helped teams to achieve our gold status as well as continuing to safeguard and uphold the required standards for being an Investor in People employer.
Investors in People Gold Consortium
We are now part of a regional consortium, enabling us to connect with other gold businesses across the south-east region. This has facilitated excellent opportunities to visit other gold businesses, share good practice and gain new ideas and insights into what it takes to be an outstanding employer. We have hosted a regional ‘gold’ event at Brightstar, focusing on ‘Reward and Recognition’ and were delighted to welcome a range of different businesses from different sectors.
Learning Champions.
To support the Director of People Development in working the Investors in People ‘way’, we have appointed a team of ‘Learning Champions’. Our Learning Champions embrace, support and promote people development, assisting in the delivery of our People Management Programme and ‘teachers and learners’ ethos. They invest quality time in their own professional development and encourage colleagues to do the same, providing inspiration, support and stewardship to them.
Learning Champions support and lead training and professional development projects and serve as role models to their colleagues. They play a key part in the induction of new staff and also support under-achieving team members, inspiring them to get better. Learning Champions also contribute new ideas and inspiration, so as to enhance existing provision and to meet the needs and interests of all team members.
